Birthstones are gemstones that harmonize with calendar months or zodiac signs to help balance, enhance and support specific energies.
Aquamarine
Aquamarine is a stone of water magic, creativity and rejuvenation.
Colors: Translucent blue, light green
Usually found in: Brazil, Pakistan & Afghanistan
Chakras represented: Throat, 3rd Eye, Heart
Element: Water
Care notes: Will fade in direct sunlight
Aquamarine is coined from the Latin term for seawater, "aqua marina"; many mythical stories and legends connect Aquamarine to Mermaid magic. A stone of the "in-between" magical realm of earth and sea, Aquamarine connects us to your Mermaid essence, if you personally feel drawn toward these half-human creatures of the unknown.
Chemically, Aquamarine is the blue variety of Beryl, and is a sister gem to Emerald and Morganite. It's widely available as a faceted gemstone or a tumbled pocket stone, and grows naturally in long, hexagon shaped crystals often embedded in pegmatite rock and mica.
Aquamarine is naturally very light, so deeper shades you find are often heat treated to deepen their hue.

A "cooling" crystal, Aquamarine can help calm overactive mental chatter and anxiety, infusing you with mind and body rejuvenation and crystal-clear clarity. Go with the flow with Aquamarine by your side, or on your body!
Bloodstone
Colors: Opaque red, green, brown, blue-mixed
Usually found in: India, China, Brazil, Asutralia & USA
Chakras represented: Root
Element: Earth
Bloodstone is a powerful purifier, a healing tool that is perfect for dispelling negative influences from your aura and bringing your subtle energies into balance with grounding. The name Bloodstone is derived from representation of Christ's blood drops, calling in the essence of those who sacrifice themselves for the good of the whole.
Bloodstone strengthens the root chakra, the source of our physical energy in the body, and it removes physical sluggishness that sometimes comes with this human incarnation. The energies of this crystal also offer support and courage during times of adversity, lending strength and stamina to the body.
Some consider this to be a "warrior" stone, and helps with those who feel abandoned by others, especially those on a spiritual path. Should you use pocket or affirmation crystals, hold this stone and say: "I am at home and comfortable in my body, which vibrates at it's highest level of vitality and strength, and I act for the highest good of all."
